The umpire acts as an impartial and competent third party, reviewing both appraisers’ positions, supporting documents, and evidence to help reach a fair and balanced resolution. Once any two of the three panel members, either both appraisers or one appraiser and the umpire, sign the Appraisal Award, it becomes fully executed.
1. Fee Payment
The Insurance Umpire fee must be paid in full by all participating parties before the process begins.
2. Evidence Submission & Communication Protocol
All supporting evidence and documentation must be submitted to Umpire@AdjusterShield.com within 10 business days of payment confirmation. All communications must be conducted in writing only—no phone calls are permitted. Ex parte communications with the umpire are strictly prohibited; all parties and both appraisers must be included in every communication to ensure transparency and fairness.
3. Review Period
Within 10 business days after the Evidence Submission period, the Insurance Umpire will prepare and issue a draft Appraisal Award for panel review. This draft is provided without the umpire’s signature to allow time for review of factual corrections or clarifications based on the evidence.
4. Appraisal Award
Within 10 business days following the review period, the Insurance Umpire will sign and finalize the Appraisal Award, concluding the Insurance Umpire Service.
